My very first ski trip to Aspen , but definitely not my last!

Although I grew up in Toronto , Canada I  sadly never attempted to ski.  I was very Anti-snow and cold climate when I lived there. Living in Miami , I have developed a new appreciation for snow and chilly climates.
My hubby is an amazing skier. He had such a passion for it , so I decided to give it a try in hopes of having another hobby we could enjoy together. I really didn't expect to be as great as I was!!!!(mind you, I had 3 different private ski instructors, including my hubby on day 3) honestly the hardest part was finding cute fitted ski gear to wear on the slopes. Now that i picked skiing  up , I can't wait to get back to prove to  my hunny that I am more athletically inclined than he is, Ha! And to enjoy the breathtaking views, the exhilaration of zooming down hills (and overcoming my fear of them), the 5 star spas, amazing shopping, and the  mouthwatering dishes at some of THE best restaurants in the country.
Aspen was not as "bougie" as I anticipated it to be. In fact I think I think I may have even been overdressed  one night. People were incredibly friendly which could have been due to the high altitude where each glass of wine equals 2-3 !!  If you are looking for a Miami or Vegas club scene ........You got the wrong place!. The nightlife is much more loungy and relaxed. The city shuts down fairly early than what I'm used to, living in Miami. My days pretty much consisted of breakfast @7am, skiing until 3pm, walking around town/shopping until 5pm, spa, then dinner.
The hardest part for me being a 5'5, 105 lbs, size xxs petite body-frame, was finding cute ski clothes!!!. I would definitely suggest getting your gear in aspen if you can at one of the many cute ski boutiques. Ralph Lauren's RLX line makes the smallest ski pants not to mention very fashionable, you cant go wrong with anything RLX, I wanted their supernova puffer but they were all out :(.  I ended up with a red , dolomite puffer, very cute! . I would recommend bogner  or moncler as well, pricier than RLX but well worth it !
